World Break: Aria of Curse for a Holy Swordsman

World Break: Aria of Curse for a Holy Swordsman was produced by Studio diomedéa and released as a television anime series in 2015. Adapted from the light novel series written by Akamitsu Awamura and illustrated by Refeia, the story centers on a high school that trains students with inherited memories from their past lives, known as Saviors. The production was part of a mid-2010s trend of fantasy light novel adaptations that leaned heavily into harem tropes and supernatural combat.

The series design sought to emphasize the dual identities of the protagonists, balancing modern school-life aesthetics with high-fantasy weapon designs and magic-based combat. While the series captured a specific niche audience interested in the 'academy battle' genre, it received a mixed critical reception. Reviewers often pointed to its conventional plot structures and familiar character archetypes, though it remains a recognized example of the light novel adaptation cycle during that period.
