Yatogame-chan Kansatsu Nikki 3

Yatogame-chan Kansatsu Nikki 3 is the third season of a series based on the four-panel manga by Masaki Ando, which highlights the distinct cultural and linguistic nuances of Nagoya. Produced by Studio Saetta and directed by Hisayoshi Hirasawa, the series continues the narrative of a student from Tokyo who learns about the eccentricities of his new home through the outspoken, local dialect-heavy character Monaka Yatogame. The production maintains its signature short-form format to emphasize the comedic timing of the protagonist's cultural observations.

The animation style is purposefully minimalist, designed to mirror the straightforward, punchy nature of the original manga strips. The series serves as a regional promotional piece, officially endorsed by local government and tourism boards to increase the visibility of Nagoya’s history and customs. Upon release, it was received as a niche but effective educational comedy that relies heavily on the specific regional pride of the Aichi Prefecture, appealing largely to audiences interested in Japanese domestic travel and linguistics.
