Where it came from
Your Choice! is a notable experimental short film produced by Dentsu, the Japanese international advertising and public relations agency. Created during a period when Dentsu was actively exploring the intersection of traditional narrative media and interactive advertising, the piece was designed to challenge the viewer's passive relationship with cinematic content. By utilizing a branching path structure, the project sought to place the power of storytelling directly in the hands of the audience, reflecting a broader corporate push into high-concept digital engagement during the early 2000s.
The conceptual framework for the piece was developed by Dentsu's creative division, which focused on seamless integration between technical interactivity and aesthetic visual language. The design emphasized minimalist, clean transitions to ensure that the branching decisions felt intuitive rather than disruptive to the film's pacing. While the experimental format received moderate attention within advertising and media technology circles for its technical execution, it remained a niche production, primarily serving as a proof-of-concept for the evolving capabilities of interactive film media.
