On his 16th birthday, Tomokazu Mikuri had a realistic dream where he sees a girl battling a giant floating monstrosity. When he wakes up, he is surprised that the girl is actually sleeping next to him... Whenever he sleeps from now on, he ends up back at the dream world, and more and more people that he knows keep showing up there too. He finds out from a mysterious masked woman in the dream world named Silk that they are fighting against one named Faydoom, and he is the one who provides the powers to those girls so that they can fight these monsters. And so it goes...

Where it came from
Yumeria is a 2004 television anime series produced by Studio DEEN, adapted from the visual novel developed by F&C FC01. The series emerged during a period of experimentation with game-to-anime adaptations, centering on a protagonist who enters dream worlds to protect a girl named Mone. Its production was aimed at capturing the then-popular 'harem' and 'dream-fantasy' tropes, balancing episodic action sequences with lighthearted character interactions.
The character designs were handled by Kazuya Kuroda, who sought to translate the source material’s aesthetic into a fluid, animated format. While the series was received as a standard entry in the mid-2000s anime landscape, it remains a notable example of Studio DEEN's output from that era, serving as a time capsule for the specific style of light-novel and visual-novel adaptations that dominated the medium in the early 2000s.
