Yummy Yummy Yummy

Yummy Yummy Yummy was released in 1968 as a single by the Ohio Express, a studio-based project managed by the production team of Jerry Kasenetz and Jeff Katz. Emerging from the 'bubblegum pop' era, the track was crafted as a lighthearted, catchy novelty song designed to appeal to a younger demographic. It was written by Arthur Resnick and Joey Levine, with Levine providing the distinctive lead vocals that defined the group's early sound.

The song is often cited as a quintessential example of the late-1960s bubblegum genre, characterized by simple, repetitive melodies and upbeat, suggestive lyrics. While it achieved significant commercial success, peaking high on the Billboard Hot 100, it was met with a polarized critical reception. Detractors viewed it as an overly simplistic or manufactured product of the music industry, while supporters celebrated it as a perfectly engineered pop earworm that captured the playful spirit of its time.
