Where it came from
Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha-bu Shozoku 3 serves as the third installment in a theatrical short film series based on the popular franchise Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha de Aru. Released in 2017 as part of the lead-up to the franchise's second television season, these shorts were crafted to provide a lighter, slice-of-life contrast to the intense, high-stakes drama that defines the core series. The project was produced by Studio Gokumi, maintaining the visual consistency and character designs established in the original 2014 anime.
The shorts were designed by the creative team at Studio Gokumi to focus on the interpersonal chemistry and daily antics of the Hero Club members during their more peaceful moments. Under the direction of Seiji Kishi and the production team, the series utilized the same voice cast and staff to ensure a seamless experience for established fans. The shorts were generally received as a thoughtful, low-pressure companion piece that allowed for character development outside of the established combat narrative.
