Where it came from
Zutto Suki Datta is a 2017 original video animation produced by Studio Queen Bee, an animation house primarily recognized for its contributions to the adult animation market. The project emerged during a period of experimentation within the studio, which often blends traditional anime aesthetics with explicit themes. Released as a standalone short, the production reflects the studio's focus on stylized character design and direct, narrative-driven pacing that characterizes their specific niche in the medium.
The creative direction for Queen Bee projects generally emphasizes a consistent visual identity characterized by high-contrast digital ink work and simplified backgrounds meant to foreground the protagonists. While the studio operates largely outside the mainstream critical discourse surrounding seasonal television anime, Zutto Suki Datta serves as a representative example of their technical approach to the OVA format during the late 2010s, prioritizing brevity and specific thematic tropes over complex world-building.
