African Marsh Harrier

The African Marsh Harrier, Circus ranivorus, is a bird of prey endemic to sub-Saharan Africa, primarily inhabiting wetlands and marshy environments. Evolutionarily distinct within the genus Circus, it has adapted to its niche as a ground-nesting raptor, relying on the stability of dense reed beds for both protection and hunting grounds.
