African Pitta

The African pitta (Pitta angolensis) is a distinctive passerine bird primarily distributed across the miombo woodlands of sub-Saharan Africa. Taxonomically described in the 19th century, the species is renowned for its specific evolutionary adaptations to dense, forested environments.
