Andaman Bulbul

The Andaman Bulbul, scientifically classified as Microtarsus fuscoflavescens, is an avian species endemic to the Andaman Islands in the Bay of Bengal. It evolved in relative isolation within the dense tropical evergreen and moist deciduous forests of the archipelago, adapting specifically to the unique ecological niches of these islands. The species was historically categorized as a subspecies of the olive-winged bulbul, but current taxonomic consensus distinguishes it as a distinct entity due to its specific morphological and vocal characteristics.

The physical design of the species, characterized by its rounded wing and tail shapes, represents an evolutionary response to its environment. These structural features allow for agile, short-burst flight patterns that are ideal for navigating the dense undergrowth and complex foliage of its habitat.
