Banggai Jungle Flycatcher

The Banggai Jungle Flycatcher, or Cyornis pelingensis, is a bird endemic to the Banggai Islands of Indonesia. Long considered a subspecies of the Grey-chested Jungle Flycatcher, it was elevated to full species status following recent phylogenetic research that highlighted distinct vocal and morphological differences, particularly its unique plumage patterns and behaviors native to the specific microclimates of the Peling and Banggai archipelagos.
