Black-fronted White-eye

The Black-fronted White-eye, Zosterops minor, is a passerine bird native to the forests and scrublands of New Guinea. It belongs to the Zosteropidae family, a group of birds known for their distinct white eye-rings and highly social, insectivorous behavior. Ornithologically, it was categorized during the era of intensive colonial-era natural history expeditions in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, when researchers sought to document the high levels of endemism within the island's mountainous terrain.

The species is defined by its compact, rounded wings and rounded tail, physical adaptations suited for navigating dense canopy foliage.
