Chestnut-bellied Cuckoo

The Chestnut-bellied Cuckoo, or Coccyzus pluvialis, is a species of bird endemic to the island of Jamaica. Historically classified within the order Cuculiformes, its presence in the Caribbean has been documented by ornithologists since the colonial era, noted for its distinct vocalizations and its preference for dense, forested habitats. It is a member of a genus known for being secretive, often remaining hidden within the canopy despite its significant size.
