Chestnut-crested Yuhina

The Chestnut-crested Yuhina (Staphida everetti) is a species endemic to the island of Borneo. It was first described in the late 19th century, gaining its specific epithet in honor of the British colonial administrator and naturalist Alfred Hart Everett, who was instrumental in documenting the biodiversity of the Malay Archipelago. As a member of the Zosteropidae family, this bird evolved in the montane forests of Borneo, where its distinct plumage and behavioral patterns reflect a long history of evolutionary adaptation to high-altitude ecosystems.
