Frill-necked Monarch

The Frill-necked Monarch, scientifically classified as Arses lorealis, is a passerine bird native to the monsoon forests of northern Australia. It was first described by the zoologist Frank Walter Bravery in the mid-20th century, emerging from the broader biological exploration of the Cape York Peninsula. As a member of the monarch flycatcher family, its discovery contributed to a deeper understanding of the distinct avian biodiversity found in the tropical woodlands of the region.
