Fringe-backed Fire-eye

The Fringe-backed Fire-eye, scientifically classified as Pyriglena atra, is a member of the antbird family endemic to a restricted range in the Atlantic forest of northeastern Brazil. This species evolved within the dense, humid understory of these coastal forests, developing specialized adaptations such as its characteristic rounded wing shape, which facilitates maneuverability in thick foliage, and a distinctive notched tail that aids in balance while foraging in the dark, complex environment of the forest floor.
