Gray-cheeked Nunlet

The Gray-cheeked Nunlet, Nonnula frontalis, is a member of the Bucconidae family, a group of near-passerine birds known as puffbirds. These birds are native to the humid lowland forests of Panama and northern Colombia. Their evolutionary development reflects an adaptation to dense tropical understory environments, characterized by their solitary nature and specific preference for the mid-strata of forests.
