Hauxwell's Thrush

Hauxwell's Thrush, or Turdus hauxwelli, was first described by the ornithologist George Newbold Lawrence in 1869. Named in honor of John Hauxwell, a British collector who operated in the Amazon basin during the mid-19th century, the species emerged from an era of intensive biological exploration in South America.
