Lanner Falcon

The Lanner Falcon, Falco biarmicus, is a medium-sized bird of prey native to Africa, southeast Europe, and parts of Asia. Historically, these raptors were prized for their temperament and hunting utility, having been utilized in falconry practices for centuries across the Mediterranean and the Middle East. Unlike the more aggressive peregrine, the lanner was often favored for its relative tractability and suitability for lower-altitude flight maneuvers in open terrain.

The physical design of the species, characterized by its distinctively pointed wings and somewhat forked tail, represents an evolutionary optimization for high-speed hunting in arid landscapes.
