Lance-tailed Manakin

The Lance-tailed Manakin, scientifically classified as Chiroxiphia lanceolata, is native to the dry forests and scrublands of Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, and Venezuela. Within the broader family of manakins, this species is noted for its distinctive evolutionary adaptation, specifically the elongated, lance-shaped central tail feathers that distinguish it from its close relatives.
