Lemon-spectacled Tanager

The Lemon-spectacled Tanager, scientifically classified as Chlorothraupis olivacea, is a forest-dwelling passerine endemic to the humid lowlands of the Chocó region in Colombia and northwest Ecuador. It was first described by the ornithologist John Cassin in 1866, based on specimens collected during mid-19th-century explorations of the Neotropics. The species occupies a niche within the dense understory of tropical evergreen forests, where its olive-green plumage and distinctive yellow eye-ring serve as vital identifiers for field researchers and avian taxonomists studying the evolutionary divergence of the Cardinalidae family.
