Lesser Gray Shrike

The Lesser Gray Shrike, scientifically classified as Lanius minor, is a migratory passerine bird native to a broad range spanning Central and Southern Europe into Central Asia. As a member of the shrike family, it evolved with distinct predatory behaviors, specifically the habit of impaling prey on thorns or barbed wire to create a cache, a trait that has earned the family the colloquial name of butcherbirds.
