Mountain Shrike

The Mountain Shrike, Lanius validirostris, is a passerine bird endemic to the Philippines, primarily inhabiting the montane forests of Luzon and Mindanao. It was first formally described by the English ornithologist William Robert Ogilvie-Grant in 1894, reflecting the late 19th-century scientific movement to categorize the distinct avian biodiversity found within the Philippine archipelago.
