Palawan Peacock-Pheasant

The Palawan Peacock-Pheasant, scientifically identified as Polyplectron napoleonis, is an endemic species restricted to the lowland forests of Palawan in the Philippines. It was first described in the mid-19th century and is celebrated by ornithologists for the iridescent, metallic blue-green ocelli—or eyespots—that decorate the plumage of the male.
