White-browed Fulvetta

The White-browed Fulvetta (Fulvetta vinipectus) is a small passerine bird native to the montane forests of the Himalayas and parts of Southeast Asia. First described by Brian Houghton Hodgson in the 19th century, it was categorized as part of the Sylviidae family before being reclassified into the Paradoxornithidae. Its physical characteristics, including its distinctive rounded wings and notched tail, are evolutionary adaptations that allow for agile movement through the dense understory and bamboo thickets of high-altitude habitats.

The species is noted for its subtle, earth-toned plumage and characteristic white supercilium, or 'eyebrow,' which gives it its common name.
