White-capped Monarch

The White-capped Monarch (Monarcha richardsii) is a passerine bird endemic to the Solomon Islands, specifically documented in the central and western regions. It was formally described by the ornithologist Ramsay in 1881. As a member of the Monarchidae family, its evolutionary history is deeply tied to the isolated forest ecosystems of the South Pacific, where it adapted to the dense, humid canopy environments characteristic of the archipelago.
