White-tailed Trogon

The White-tailed Trogon, Trogon chionurus, is a member of the Trogonidae family, a group of birds primarily identified by their brilliant plumage and distinctively sedentary nature within the Neotropical forests. Historically recognized as a subspecies of the Green-backed Trogon, it gained distinct classification due to its specific morphological traits, particularly the white tail plumage that sets it apart from its close relatives in the Trogon genus.
