Andreae de Sancto Victore Opera

This volume is part of the Corpus Christianorum, Continuatio Mediaevalis series, a rigorous academic project dedicated to editing the complete works of medieval Latin writers. It focuses on the exegetical writings of Andreas de Sancto Victore, a twelfth-century theologian associated with the Abbey of Saint Victor in Paris. His work is noted for its early emphasis on literal interpretation of scripture, drawing on Hebraic scholarship during a period when allegorical readings were dominant.

The 1986 edition was prepared by Brepols, a Belgian publisher with a long history of ecclesiastical and scholarly output. The design adheres to the standard academic layout established for the series, prioritizing clarity, critical apparatus, and durability for research environments. It is intended primarily for historians and theologians interested in the Victorine school of thought, serving as a standard reference tool that reflects the painstaking editorial work required to translate and standardize medieval manuscript traditions for modern study.
