Augen zeugen: zur Artikulation von Blickbez ugen in der Fiktion

Augen zeugen: zur Artikulation von Blickbezügen in der Fiktion was published by A. Francke Verlag as part of their academic monograph series, which focuses on literature and media studies. The work emerged from the scholarly tradition of German literary criticism, aiming to dissect the complex mechanics of the gaze and visual perception within narrative structures. By examining how authors articulate the act of seeing, Lehmann situates his analysis at the intersection of narratology and visual theory, contributing to the broader academic discourse on how perspective is constructed in fictional texts.

The design and conceptual framework of the book reflect the standard rigorous presentation expected of German academic publishing houses of this era. The title is a play on words, utilizing the German term for eyewitnesses to explore the deeper semiotic and psychological implications of perspective. It was intended primarily for a scholarly audience, receiving recognition within university libraries and research circles as a focused contribution to the study of reader-text dynamics and the phenomenology of the gaze.
