Where it came from
Avalon, Avalon was published in 2014 by Black Hill Press, an independent publisher known for championing experimental and offbeat literary voices. The work reflects a period in mid-2010s independent publishing where small presses increasingly sought to bridge the gap between traditional narrative and surrealist, multimedia-influenced storytelling.
Author Brett Arnold crafted the text as a labyrinthine meditation on memory and place. The book is recognized for its unconventional structure and challenging prose, which were intended to mirror the disorienting experience of the protagonist's journey. Upon its release, it was noted primarily within niche literary circles for its idiosyncratic voice and atmospheric depth, cementing its status as a distinct artifact of contemporary experimental fiction.
