Brexismus, oder, Verortungsversuche im Dazwischen

Published in 2018 by Universitätsverlag Winter, Brexismus, oder, Verortungsversuche im Dazwischen serves as a scholarly investigation into the cultural and political shifts surrounding the United Kingdom's departure from the European Union. Authored by Rüdiger Görner, a professor of German literature and an expert in Anglo-German cultural relations, the book seeks to define the existential and intellectual space created by the Brexit phenomenon. It operates as a series of essays that explore how this historical event reconfigured European identities and redefined borders in a post-Brexit landscape.

Görner’s approach is rooted in critical cultural studies, analyzing the 'in-between' state—the 'Dazwischen'—that emerged during the negotiations. The design and intellectual framing of the work align with academic traditions of European political commentary, focusing on the linguistic and psychological dimensions of separation. Upon its release, the book was noted for its nuanced perspective, offering a contemplative alternative to the often polarized journalistic accounts of the period, and it remains a staple for those examining the intersection of literature and contemporary European politics.
