Where it came from
Published in 1978 by Edition Volker Huber, this volume serves as a significant retrospective of the graphic and sculptural work of Italian artist Bruno Bruni. Emerging from the vibrant European art scene of the late 1970s, the book was conceived to document Bruni’s transition from a promising figurative artist to an established voice in contemporary printmaking, capturing his signature emphasis on the female form and fluid, rhythmic lines.
The publication reflects the meticulous curation typical of Volker Huber’s collaborations, which focused on high-quality presentations of lithography and graphic editions. By highlighting Bruni’s technical precision and his ability to merge classical aesthetics with modern sensibilities, the book aimed to solidify his status among European collectors. Upon its release, it was well received by the art community for its faithful reproduction of his charcoal-heavy style and detailed etching techniques.
