Die Stadtkirche St. Michael zu Jena

Published in 1958, this monograph by Friedrich Möbius serves as an academic and historical exploration of the St. Michael Church in Jena, Germany. The work emerged from a period of intensive scholarly interest in Thuringian architectural history, aiming to document the structural evolution and artistic significance of the site, which has stood as a central religious and architectural landmark in the city since the late Middle Ages.

Friedrich Möbius, a scholar noted for his work on medieval art history and architecture, approached the subject with a focus on stylistic analysis and the preservation of historical context. The book provides a detailed investigation into the transition of the church's architectural forms, reflecting the broader academic efforts to catalog and protect German cultural heritage during the mid-twentieth century. It remains a foundational reference for those studying the ecclesiastical architecture of Jena.
