Die zweite Sammlung Simon im Kaiser-Friedrich-Museum zu Berlin

Published in 1920 by G. Grote, this volume serves as a scholarly catalog documenting the extensive and significant art collection of James Simon. Simon, a prominent German textile merchant and philanthropist, was one of the most important benefactors of the Berlin State Museums, eventually donating his vast array of Italian Renaissance sculptures and other antiquities to the Kaiser-Friedrich-Museum, which is known today as the Bode Museum.

The publication of this second volume was intended to provide a systematic record of the additions and specific holdings within the Simon collection, reflecting the museum's commitment to rigorous academic documentation during the early 20th century. By cataloging these pieces, the museum provided researchers and the public with a detailed inventory of works that bridged the gap between private connoisseurship and public institutional preservation, highlighting the cultural legacy of the Simon family within the German capital.
