Diez horas con Alberto García-Alix

Diez horas con Alberto García-Alix was published in 2022 by La Fábrica as a profound exploration of the life and creative process of one of Spain's most iconic contemporary photographers. The book captures a series of intimate, extended conversations between the artist and writer Nicolás Combarro, providing a unique window into García-Alix’s world. It serves as both a memoir and a critical analysis of his raw, visceral photography, which became a defining visual language of the Movida Madrileña during the 1980s.

The design of the book reflects the stark, uncompromising aesthetic for which García-Alix is known, prioritizing the narrative weight of his experiences over mere visual display. By documenting these 'ten hours' of dialogue, the publication strips away the mythos surrounding the photographer to reveal his thoughts on art, rebellion, and the passage of time. It was received as an essential companion for those looking to understand the philosophy behind his high-contrast, black-and-white portraits that famously chronicled the underground culture of post-Franco Spain.
