Discovering Shi'i Islam

Discovering Shi'i Islam was authored by Mohammad Ali Shomali and published in 2003 by Jami'at al-Zahra in Qom, Iran. The work was created to serve as an accessible, scholarly introduction to the theological and historical framework of Twelver Shi'ism, specifically tailored for an English-speaking audience seeking to understand the core doctrines and spiritual traditions of the faith. Its production emerged from a broader intellectual movement in Qom aimed at bridging the gap between traditional Islamic scholarship and contemporary global discourse.

The book is characterized by its structured, pedagogical approach, distilling complex jurisprudential and philosophical concepts into a concise format suitable for students and interested laypeople. As a seminal work in the publisher's efforts to disseminate Islamic knowledge internationally, it has been received as a foundational text for academic study and interfaith dialogue, valued for its clarity and reliance on primary theological sources.
