From Vision to Folly in the American Soul

From Vision to Folly in the American Soul was published in 2020 by Routledge, an imprint of the Taylor & Francis Group. The book is part of a broader scholarly effort within analytical psychology to examine the contemporary American psyche through the lens of Jungian thought. Thomas Singer, a prominent Jungian analyst and author known for his work on cultural complexes, authored the text to synthesize his observations on the historical trajectory and psychological fractures of the American experience.

The design and conceptual framework of the work reflect Singer's long-standing academic inquiry into how shared myths and collective traumas shape national identity. The book serves as a focused investigation into the tension between the idealistic vision of America's founders and the subsequent manifestations of folly or shadow that have emerged in the modern era. It was received as a contemplative contribution to depth psychology, intended primarily for professionals and students seeking a psychoanalytic interpretation of political and social instability.
