Jennifer Daydreamer

Jennifer Daydreamer was self-published by the author in 1996, emerging during a period when desktop publishing and independent zine culture provided a new avenue for creators to bypass traditional editorial gatekeepers. The book occupies a niche space in the landscape of amateur literature from the mid-nineties, representing a singular creative effort that prioritizes personal expression and intimate storytelling over mass-market commercial appeal.

The design of the work reflects the constraints and aesthetic choices common to mid-nineties independent publishing, characterized by a straightforward, handmade quality. As an author-published project, the design was directly overseen by Jennifer Daydreamer, who utilized the tools available at the time to curate the visual presentation of her prose, aiming to maintain total control over the narrative tone and the final reader experience.
