Jujutsu Kaisen, Vol. 2 (呪術廻戦 Jujutsu Kaisen #2)

Jujutsu Kaisen, Volume 2, continues the dark fantasy narrative written and illustrated by Gege Akutami. Originally serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump, this volume was published in Spanish by Norma Editorial in 2020 as part of their effort to bring the globally popular series to broader audiences. It serves as a pivotal bridge in the series, further establishing the grim tone and intricate combat mechanics that distinguish Akutami’s work within the shonen genre.

The character design and visual style for this volume reflect Akutami’s intentional move toward a grittier aesthetic compared to traditional action manga. By blending elements of supernatural horror with high-stakes martial arts, the series was received as a refreshing evolution of the genre. Critics and readers noted the impact of Akutami's stark, minimalist line work and his ability to construct dense, lore-heavy world-building that anchors the high-energy combat sequences featured in this installment.
