Lamia

Lamia, authored by Destiny West and published in 2013, emerged during a period of significant growth for the independent publishing sector, specifically through the CreateSpace platform. The work functions as a contemporary exploration of mythological themes, reinterpreting the ancient figure of the lamia through the lens of modern supernatural fiction. It reflects the author's engagement with dark fantasy tropes, aiming to provide readers with a narrative that blends atmospheric tension with character-driven lore.

The physical design and production of this edition are characteristic of the print-on-demand model prevalent in the early 2010s, prioritizing accessibility for independent voices over traditional boutique publishing aesthetics. While the book serves as a niche entry in the author's bibliography, it is representative of the creative autonomy afforded to writers who utilized self-publishing services to bring self-contained genre narratives to a broader, digital-first audience. The work is noted by collectors primarily as an example of early-decade independent fantasy literature.
