Leopardi e la letteratura italiana dal Duecento al Seicento

This volume comprises the proceedings of the fourth Convegno internazionale di studi leopardiani, held in Recanati in 1976. These international conferences, hosted in Giacomo Leopardi's hometown, have long served as the scholarly epicenter for research into the poet's life and work. The 1976 gathering specifically sought to place Leopardi within the broader trajectory of Italian literary history, analyzing how he engaged with and transformed the linguistic and stylistic legacies of the Duecento through the Seicento.

Published by the prestigious Leo S. Olschki house in 1978, the work reflects the rigorous editorial standards typical of the publisher's long-standing commitment to humanistic scholarship. Edited for the Centro nazionale di studi leopardiani, the volume captures a moment of intense academic reassessment of the poet's intellectual foundations. It remains a foundational reference for students of Italian philology, valued for its detailed essays that examine how classical and Renaissance influences were distilled through Leopardi’s unique philosophical lens.
