Narrativa de la rebelion zapatista. Los relatos del Subcomandante Marcos. (Coleccion Nexos y Diferencias) (Coleccion Nexos y Diferencias)

Published in 2005 by Iberoamericana Vervuert, this analytical volume examines the literary and political output of Subcomandante Marcos, the spokesperson for the Zapatista Army of National Liberation (EZLN). Kristine Vanden Berghe, an academic specializing in Latin American literature, explores the intersection of myth, indigenous tradition, and postmodern political narrative that defined the Zapatista uprising in Chiapas, Mexico, starting in 1994.

The work serves as a critical study of how the Zapatistas utilized storytelling as a revolutionary tool to communicate their platform to the global public. By analyzing Marcos’s communiqués and stories, Vanden Berghe evaluates the movement's challenge to neoliberal discourse and its impact on contemporary Mexican literature, offering a structured examination of how these texts transitioned from clandestine insurgent bulletins to influential pieces of intellectual history.
