Narrative Kulturkonzepte: Wielands Aristipp und Goethes Wilhelm Meisters Wanderjahre

Published in 2005 by Universitätsverlag C. Winter, this scholarly monograph is part of the long-standing 'Beiträge zur neueren Literaturgeschichte' series. Jutta Heinz examines the intersection of narrative technique and cultural history within the German Enlightenment and the transition into Romanticism. The work serves as a critical study of how literature reflects shifting intellectual paradigms during a period of profound societal change in the late 18th and early 19th centuries.

The book focuses on the structural and thematic connections between Christoph Martin Wieland’s 'Aristipp' and Johann Wolfgang von Goethe’s 'Wilhelm Meisters Wanderjahre'. Heinz analyzes how both authors utilized the novel form to process the cultural shifts of their era, investigating the narrative strategies they employed to depict the individual's role within complex social systems. The study is recognized in academic circles for its contribution to Germanistic research, providing a rigorous reading of these pivotal texts.
