Opera hactenus inedita Rogeri Baconi

Published in 1905 by A. Moring under the editorial guidance of Robert Steele, this volume served as an important contribution to the early 20th-century effort to recover and systematize the works of the 13th-century philosopher and scientist Roger Bacon. This collection, titled 'Opera hactenus inedita Rogeri Baconi,' focused specifically on bringing previously unpublished manuscripts to the academic light, reflecting the era's growing interest in medieval scholasticism and the history of natural philosophy.

The design of the volume adheres to the restrained, scholarly aesthetic of the period, prioritizing legibility and textual accuracy over ornamentation. It was produced as part of a series intended to provide professional historians and scholars with reliable critical editions of Bacon's scientific and metaphysical treatises. Upon its release, it was well-regarded within academic circles for its diligent transcription and its role in re-evaluating Bacon's influence on the development of the empirical method.
