Poesías de Ignacio Pérez Salazar y Osorio

Poesías, published in 1906 by the Tipografía de V. Agüeros in Mexico City, represents the literary output of Ignacio Pérez Salazar y Osorio during a period when the Porfirian era fostered a specific aesthetic of refined, formalist poetry. The collection gathers works that reflect the late-Romantic and Modernista sensibilities prevalent among the Mexican intelligentsia at the turn of the century, emphasizing lyrical structure and the traditional themes of nature, nostalgia, and social standing typical of the period's elite literary circles.

The publication was overseen by Vicente Agüeros, a prominent figure in Mexican intellectual life who served as both a publisher and a key proponent of colonial and 19th-century literature through his various anthologies and editorial projects. The volume is characteristic of the book design standards of early 20th-century Mexican presses, which favored academic presentation and modest, clean typography intended for scholarly libraries and the private collections of the author’s contemporaries rather than mass-market appeal.
