Sadie and Ori and the Blue Blanket

Sadie and Ori and the Blue Blanket was published in 2015 by Kar-Ben Publishing, a division of Lerner Publishing Group that specializes in books reflecting Jewish culture and traditions. Written by Rabbi Jamie Korngold, the story was created to introduce children to the concept of tzedakah—the Jewish practice of charitable giving and social justice—by following the titular characters as they seek to provide comfort to those in need within their community.

The book features illustrations by Laurie Stansfield, whose work aims to provide a gentle and accessible visual narrative suitable for a young audience. The project was designed as a didactic tool to facilitate conversations between parents and children about empathy and communal responsibility. It has been primarily received as a helpful resource for religious education and library collections that focus on values-based children's literature.
