Smart Society

Smart Society, authored by Roberta Iannone and published by Routledge under the Taylor & Francis Group, was released in 2019. The work emerged from the scholarly discourse surrounding contemporary social theory, specifically exploring the complex interplay between human agency and the digital technologies that increasingly structure modern environments. It serves as an academic inquiry into how 'smart' systems and hyper-connectivity influence social cohesion and individual identity within the framework of the fourth industrial revolution.

The book represents a synthesis of sociological analysis, focusing on how individuals navigate life in a technologically mediated society. As part of a broader series of academic monographs on social dynamics, Iannone’s design reflects a structured, research-oriented approach common to Routledge’s sociological catalogue. It was primarily received within academic circles as a resource for sociologists and researchers looking to bridge the gap between traditional social theory and the emerging challenges of the digital age.
