The Continuing Saga of Rikki Tikki Tavi

The Continuing Saga of Rikki Tikki Tavi, authored by Ladene M. Hayes and published by Tate Publishing in 2007, represents an effort to expand upon the classic literary legacy of Rudyard Kipling’s original mongoose protagonist. Written during a period when niche independent presses were increasingly focused on reimagining established public domain characters for modern juvenile audiences, the book aims to provide a continued narrative journey for the titular character following the events of the original story.

The design and presentation of this work reflect the standard aesthetic choices of mid-2000s independent educational and storybook publishing. By grounding the narrative in the familiar framework of the jungle setting established by Kipling, the author sought to evoke a sense of continuity for younger readers. The book exists as part of the broader landscape of contemporary retellings that seek to modernize traditional fables while maintaining the atmospheric charm of the source material.
