The Mahabharata of Krishna-Dwaipayana Vyasa, Book 15 to 18

This volume represents the final portion of the seminal English translation of the Mahabharata, originally published in the late 19th century. Kisari Mohan Ganguli undertook the immense task of rendering the Sanskrit epic into prose, a project commissioned and supported by Pratap Chandra Roy. Their primary goal was to provide an accessible and complete English version of the vast Indian epic for a global audience, ensuring the preservation and dissemination of its philosophical and narrative richness.

The translation is noted for its literal approach and historical significance as the first complete English version produced by an Indian scholar. While early 20th-century critics sometimes noted the stylistic austerity of the prose, the work remains a foundational text in Indology and world literature. The specific 2017 edition by Creative Media Partners acts as a modern reprint, utilizing archival scanning techniques to make this historical resource available to contemporary researchers and readers interested in Vedic traditions.
