Yahadut dinamit

Yahadut Dinamit, or Dynamite Judaism, serves as a Hebrew-language exploration of the philosophy of Mordecai Kaplan, the founder of Reconstructionist Judaism. Originally written in English, the work outlines Kaplan’s seminal theory of Judaism as a religious civilization, moving beyond mere theology to encompass the evolving culture, folkways, and social structures of the Jewish people. This 2011 edition was released by Sifrei Chemed to make Kaplan’s radical intellectual contributions accessible to a contemporary Hebrew-speaking audience, framing his often-controversial mid-20th-century ideas within a modern context.

The publication reflects the persistent influence of Kaplan’s thought on Jewish communal life and institutional identity. By translating and curating these essays, the publishers sought to engage readers with the tension between tradition and modernity that defined Kaplan's career. The design and presentation prioritize scholarly utility, serving as both an introduction for those new to Reconstructionist thought and a reference for those examining the historical impact of Kaplan’s theological shift away from supernaturalism toward a human-centric religious framework.
